Les Vulnérables
The Alphabet of Trauma
Les Vulnérables
I explore the concept of objects transforming into subjects. Here, I use a chair—a universal symbol of comfort—and deconstruct it to communicate discomfort and vulnerability, mirroring the experience of trauma. The idea was to show how objects, like humans, possess an inherent resilience but can also convey vulnerability.
I used the human body and the chair to create a visual “alphabet” of trauma, where the chair’s altered form becomes a metaphor for emotional states. By shifting the chair from a passive object to an active subject, I aimed to visually capture how trauma can distort our experience of comfort.
